History as an academic discipline is of tremendous relevance to the country's needs. The History Department offers a wide variety of programmes which cross cut other studies with a historical dimension in them. <br> The History section offers a variety of courses including regional and continental histories. The history of Zimbabwe for example, affords the student the opportunity to appreciate the complex nature of pre-colonial, colonial and post-independent developments. The events concerned are inextricably interwoven and connected so much that the reader is able to see how events evolve to our present situation.
