The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering was established in 1973. This was in recognition of the pivotal role that it plays in the process of Industrialisation and Development. This role is increasing in importance as Zimbabwe strives to increase the contribution of Manufacturing to the Gross National Product. <br> The Department provides teaching and research facilities leading to a Bachelor of Science Honours degree, in Mechanical Engineering
