The Mineral Resources Centre (MRC) is a research and consulting management unit, established in May 1999 and based at the department of Geology, University, of Zimbabwe. The MRC aims to promote and facilitate multi-disciplinary projects related to mineral resources in Zimbabwe and surrounding countries in the. The Centre allows clients to make optimal use of University of Zimbabwe facilities and research capabilities by co-odinating and managing projects that require diverse inputs from a wide range of experts. The MRC is directly supported by the Faculties Of Science, Engineering and Agriculture, and counts the Departments of Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Soil Sciences and the Institute of Mining Research amongst its direct participants. The MRC also maintains links with the Institute of Environmental Studies.
