The study sought to establish communities understanding of baseline surveys and whether they would be willing to conduct them on their own. If so: • which information they would want to collect • the method and tools which they want to use in conducting their surveys; and • the possible uses of such information. Focus was on the possibility of conducting participatory community research and defining the units which are feasible for such an exercise.
