Abstract: The biology of the schistosome parasites allows many theoretical methods of interruption of its life cycle, and therefore control of the spread of the infection or consequent disease. It must be accepted that the practical value of any one method of control can only be assessed if that method is used by itself in an endemic area. For this reason there have been reports from so many endemic areas on attempts at the evaluation of the different possible control measures.
