dc.description.abstract | This dissertation provides a detailed study of the challenges affecting women in the
informal sector in developing their businesses; particularly in cosmetic industry in
Zanzibar. Several methodologies and data collection methods were utilized to present
the „lived realities‟ of these vulnerable and marginalized women. Methodologies such as
Women‟s Law Approach, Human Rights and Grounded theory which seek to reveal a
true understanding of the „position‟ of these women were used. The research proposes
solutions to the problems that are legislative, socio-economic and administrative. | en_US |
