dc.description.abstractThe study sought to investigate the effects of the quantity of assignments on quality of performance among third year students at Masvingo Teachers ’ College. The research employed the survey method and data was collected through the use of the questionnaire The student population was 454. One hundred (100) 3' ^ year students and fifty-four (54) lecturers panTicipated in the stud}'. AH the students were required to produce assignments in the II Applied Education areas and in Curriculum Depth Study. In total each student was expected to produce a minimum of 18 assignments per term. The assignments were supposed to be returned before the next assignment is given. The study revealed that students at Masvingo Teachers' College are not prmided with adequate guidance on assignment writinng.
