The Department of Economic Histroy is committed to producing well-rounded, informed, analytical and productive graduates who can contribute meaningfully to national development and the upliftment of Zimbabwean society and economy. It seeks to do this through high quality teaching and supervision at both the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels and by offering a wide variety of courses covering a variety of areas and cultures. By offering courses on the past and present economic history of societies in Africa, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East, the Department seeks to expose students to many issues fundamental to an appreciation and understanding of contemporary issues at a national and global level in historical perspective.
