dc.description.abstract | The responsibility to protect principle remains a useful norm for promoting peace and security. The research traces the evolution of responsibility to protect principle as a basis for intervention. The study analysed the effectiveness of responsibility to protect principle in promoting peace and security and adopted a case study approach. The research used qualitative data collection tools. The result of the study indicated that responsibility to protect principle has not been effective in promoting peace and security especially in Libya. There is need for African Union and other sub-regional organisations to be self-sufficient in future so that they are able to resolve problems on their own and avoid external manipulation. | en_ZW |
