The aim of this dissertation is to examine where the African leaders have gone wrong considering that they have been blamed for the lack of development in Africa. It looks at their failure as a betrayal of the aims and ideals of the people at independence. This lack of development has been attributed to their lack of ideology. This dissertation seeks to discover to what extent this applies.en_US
