The Department of Biochemistry is a member of the Faculty of Science, but is located in and affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine. It has 15 academic and 22 technical and clerical staff. Biochemistry is taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level to students from a range of different disciplines. The Department of Biochemistry has a strong postgraduate programme, with biannual intake of 15 MSc in Biotechnology students, 9 students registered for an M.Phil and 14 students registered for a D.Phil. Research in The Department comprises of groups/laboratories.
